The titanium is biocompatible and allows a complete growth of the gum, which will be closed on the implant and cover it. To date, 95% of gum operations have been successful, with smokers and diabetics slightly less successful.

How are the treatments going?

1. The visit

Before each implant installation, a complete inspection of the jaw is carried out with an X-ray. An evaluation of the work is made as to the type and number of implants needed and the most appropriate construction. All data is put into a medical record and will be discussed with the patient.

2. Placement of implants

An anesthesia of the area to be treated is performed, the gum is opened with a laser, then a hole is drilled in the jaw bone, the implant is screwed, we can then sew the gum. Depending on the person and the area of intervention, healing takes 3 to 6 months during this period several visits will be necessary and a provisional prosthesis will be placed.

3. The rest period

After the procedure, when the pain wakes up, it is easily managed with painkillers. A swelling appears and resolves itself with ice compresses. In the first week, avoid hurting the gums with too hard food, which is why it is recommended to crush the food. It is very important to rinse your mouth thoroughly after each meal, gently brush your gums and bathe your mouth. You will receive a prescription for 6 to 10 days of antibiotics, at the end of this period, the wires will be removed and you can remake normally.

VERY IMPORTANT

During the healing period, it is very important not to force the implant.

  • No dry or hard food.
  • During the meal, the denture should be completely removed.
  • In the case of a total prosthesis, it must be removed during the night.
