Before each implant installation, a complete inspection of the jaw is carried out with an X-ray. An evaluation of the work is made as to the type and number of implants needed and the most appropriate construction. All data is put into a medical record and will be discussed with the patient.
An anesthesia of the area to be treated is performed, the gum is opened with a laser, then a hole is drilled in the jaw bone, the implant is screwed, we can then sew the gum. Depending on the person and the area of intervention, healing takes 3 to 6 months during this period several visits will be necessary and a provisional prosthesis will be placed.
After the procedure, when the pain wakes up, it is easily managed with painkillers. A swelling appears and resolves itself with ice compresses. In the first week, avoid hurting the gums with too hard food, which is why it is recommended to crush the food. It is very important to rinse your mouth thoroughly after each meal, gently brush your gums and bathe your mouth. You will receive a prescription for 6 to 10 days of antibiotics, at the end of this period, the wires will be removed and you can remake normally.
Two stays of one week each time, 4-6 months apart.
First stay (7 days): you will have two visits to our surgeon and dentist (after dental panoramic,
diagnosis and local anesthesia, we will place the implants).
About 5 days after placing the implants, our surgeon will be able to check if the gums are being
treated and if everything is going well.
We will remove the threads from your gums.
You will also visit the dentist for a temporary prosthesis if necessary.
After 3 to 6 months, we place an extension on the implant called abutment, after which we can place a crown or a bridge.
Second stay (7 days): 2 to 3 visits to the dentist and one visit to the dentist. At the surgeon, we will place pillars on the implants with laser-technology and we will place the crowns on the implants.
