Dental bridge

There are many reasons why we lose our teeth. The reason can be aging, an accident or illness. Whatever the reason, these factors will have a negative impact on your daily life. You can not enjoy your favorite foods, you lose your confidence, good mood and natural smile.

What are the causes of lack of teeth?

  • Missing frontal teeth cause bite problems reducing the number of edible foods and chewing food becomes increasingly problematic.
  • No matter where the lack of teeth is, you smile less.
  • The significant lack of rear molar teeth creates a half-sided chewing with a strong load on the jaw.
  • Chewing food will not be sufficient causing digestive disturbances.
  • Gums without teeth are much more defective so that gum inflammation can easily develop which can result in additional loss of teeth.
  • The remaining teeth near the lack of teeth will also bend away towards the lack and their restoration is possible only by orthodontics.
  • Under the toothless gums, the jaw begins to deteriorate and will be considerably weakened.

Dental bridge is needed to replace missing teeth and prevent the proliferation of cavities to other healthy teeth. The dental bridge consists of artificial dental crowns that will be used as pillars and artificial teeth. The dentist will work on various types of dental bridges. He makes a preparation on the teeth around the missing tooth to be laid. The resin dental bridges will be implanted following the preparation of the care of the adjacent teeth. The bridge is composed of 3 elements: 2 pillars (teeth on one side and the other of the missing tooth) and 1 intermediate. The bridges can be applied over large gaps ranging from 2 to 3 missing teeth. In this case, the bridge can have 4 or 5 elements with the 2 pillars. They are at two ends of the dental space and the bridges are attached to the pillars. It is also possible to have bridges of 6 or more elements, but in this case there must be an additional pillar, it is a tooth in the central area of the dental gap.

Preparation for crowns and bridges

Before you can install the crowns/bridges, you must prepare the teeth, that is to say, eliminate all the existing caries, check that there is no infection, devitalize if necessary and finally file the teeth so that you can install over the crowns of your choice. After filing the teeth a resin print of your jaw will be taken in order to make your crowns/bridges final. Immediately after this, a temporary denture will be placed directly on your old dentition. In this way, you will be able, on the same day, to fully enjoy your holiday in Antalya without worries or pain. During this time, we will make the permanent custom-made porcelain prosthesis and a few days after it will be laid and adjusted if necessary.
